“Cyber Monday” is said to be the beginning of the online holiday shopping season, as people return to work and start ordering gifts from their office computers (on break time, of course). Since so many of us now have some form of broadband internet connection at home, I suspect the Cyber Monday effect is lessening. But it’s still a good time to check out some good shopping sites.
Like.com
This is one of the most unusual new ideas I’ve seen in the online shopping world in a while. Like.com claims to help you show with “visual search.” Just show it an item you like and it’ll find others that are similar. Say you like the pattern on a shirt or a particular style of shoe. Once you’ve selected one thing that’s attractive, Like.com will offer other suggestions from a variety of shopping sites. You can narrow your choices by price, color or other attributes.
BensBargains.net
This is one of my favorites sites for finding online deals. “Ben” is constantly scouring the internet for anything he considers a deal. Maybe it’s a sale on shoes; maybe it’s a free t-shirt; maybe it’s cheap popcorn. I’ve seen all of those on the site, so no matter who you’re shopping for, there’s likely to be something interesting here. If you’re a real bargain hunter, it’s a good idea to check in regularly as some of the deals posted last only for a day or so.
