There aren’t any free converters, exactly. But go to dtv2009.gov. You can apply for up to two coupons, which last I heard are each worth $40 and cannot be combined. The boxes currently available start at about $50, so it brings your price per box down to about $10. Also, know that there is a limited number of coupons available, so apply now if you’ll need one.
