Any parent with kids using the internet knows they’re pretty good at finding cool new sites for themselves. But here are a couple of new ones I bet you’ll know about first.
Kidzui.com
More than just a website, this is a full-on web browser aimed at kids. It’s constantly updated with fun sites for them to explore and prevents them from accessing material they shouldn’t be seeing. Kids are limited to a long list of safe sites approved by Kidzui, currently about a half million. New sites are constantly being added, and that review process is one reason the browser costs $5 per month after a 30 day free trial.
HandiPoints.com
This site’s creator says she once noted that today, even kids have their own to-do lists. So she set out to create a website that organizes chores and other tasks kids need to accomplish around the house.
Parents can add kids duties to their lists and the site tracks each task, letting them be checked off as they’re accomplished.
A point value can be applied to each chore, so as kids amass more points, they can be used to bargain for favors from mom or dad.
HandiPoints is hoping to make money from a virtual world where kids can spend real money on digital “bling” for their personal characters, but the to-do lists can be used for free.
